Emergencies & Accidents | Doctors & Dentists | Hospitals & Clinics | Drugs & Medicines | Counseling Drugs and medicines prescribed by a doctor are usually obtained from a pharmacy (Apotheke) denoted by the sign of a green cross on a white background. Some doctors in Zurich issue medication of both the prescription and non-prescription type directly to their patients. However, to do so they require a special permit. The Bellevue Apotheke (Theaterstrasse 14, 044 252 56 00) is the only pharmacy in Zurich that is open 24 hours daily. Home delivery is available. The Bahnhof-Apotheke, located at the Main Station (Hauptbahnhof) is open daily from 7am to 12pm and the St. Peter Apotheke, specialized in homeopathy, is also open daily from 8am to 8pm. There are three international pharmacies supplying medication from anywhere in the world: The Victoria-Apotheke, the Pelikan Apotheke and the Fraumuenster Apotheke. They are open from Monday to Saturday during normal shopping hours. Non-prescription medicines or drugs can be purchased from a pharmacy or a drug store (Drogerie). Drug Stores stock non-prescription medicines, cosmetics, toiletries and cleaning supplies. The variety of items in Swiss drug stores is very limited compared to American drug stores with their almost infinite range of products. However, the Drogerie Finsler (open daily), in the passage of the Main Station and the Drogerie Wernle at Augustinergasse, (close to Bahnhofstrasse and open from Monday to Saturday) offer a greater variety of products than most.
