Kreis 2, the district of Enge is a residential area with proximity to nature. The lake and the park of Leimbach are transforming this area to a very pleasant neighborhood to live. This part of Zurich attracts many swimmers and sunbathers to its parks on Lake Zurich in summer. This also includes the Zurich Arboretum with its botanical garden and the Mythenquai lido. The FIFA World Football Museum is dedicated to the history of football and the Rietberg Museum, housed in a villa, presents non-European art. The large and beautiful Reformed church behind “Enge” station, both built in the historicist style, can be admired in passing.

The southernmost district of the city adjoins the old town and extends over the lower shore of Lake Zurich.It is therefore very suitable as a residential area for animal lovers as well. Behind the Enge train station you can find beautiful villas with historicist facades, the residential areas are very quiet and pleasant. On this side of Lake Zurich, the sun shines in the windows in the morning and the neighborhood is famous for its sunsets.

Public transport connections are very good. The useful tram line 7 runs from Central Station to Wollishofen, two buses run along the Seestrasse and some trains take you from Enge Station to Wollishofen Station in a few minutes. From Enge you can reach the large shopping center «Sihlcity» in a few stations. By the way, the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China’s park is also beautiful and is right in front of the collection of succulent plants, one of the most important cactus greenhouses in the world.

There are fewer restaurants and bars in district 2 than in other districts - but it is a beautiful residential oasis. Nevertheless chic cocktail lounges and trendy bars in the northern part of the district come alive at night.
